Additional information about Aardvarks

The aardvark or "earth pig" is a slow massive animal that is similar to a pig. The aardvark has short, stout legs, partially webbed feet, and long claws used to dig their large sleeping burrows and to tear apart ant and termite mounds. During the night the aardvark feeds with its long, sticky tongue upon ants, wild ground cucumber, and termites. The aardvark has a keen sense of smell and its hearing is excellent due to its large rabbit-like ears. The aardvark has 20 large cylindrical teeth which grow continuously throughout its lifetime. Not a lot is known about aardvark behavior because they are nocturnal.
