Daily Log for Wabash Container Corporation

January 13 Tuesday

Our team was introduced to our problem solving activity as a software evaluator for Wabash Container Corporation.

January 14 Wednesday

Our team evaluated the problem and through group discussion we formulated questions for Mr. Steve Burton that would be asked at the preliminary meeting. Our team e-mailed the questionnaire so that he would be prepared.

January 15 Thursday

The team worked in Microsoft Access in order to learn more about what the program could do. We decided work in Access because it seemed to be user friendly and it was a program that was available to us.

January 16 Friday

The team went to Wabash Container Corporation. Mr. Burton answered our questions. We loaded Microsoft Office 97 on his computer. He gave us a few sample programs that have been used by other container companies.

January 19 Monday

No School.

January 20 Tuesday

The team loaded the different programs that Mr. Steve Burton gave us. We evaluated the programs based on Mr. Burton's preferences of the software.

January 21 Wednesday

The team evaluated each of the programs further. We typed evaluation that included advantages and disadvantages.

January 22 Thursday

We discussed our future meeting that will be held with Mr. Burton on January 23 Friday

We made the final copies of the evaluation.

January 23 Friday

The team went to Wabash Container Corporation. We showed Mr. Burton the evaluations. He asked us to show him the one that we thought would meet his need of his company the best. The program we thought would work best was Reveille in Microsoft Access. He liked that the program was very user friendly and especially how it seemed to meet most of the needs of the Wabash Container Corporation. He asked us to explore the program a little bit further.

January 26 Monday

We looked into Reveille further. We worked on the evaluations of each of the projects. We called Mr. Steve Burton and asked him when he would be able to come to the high school or have visitors to his company. He said that Friday would be the best day for him to come to the high school.

January 27-29 Tuesday-Thursday

We worked on the evaluations of each of the projects. Formulated the final proposal for Wabash Container Corporation

January 30 Friday

We showed Mr. Steve Burton everything we had explored during the past week. He liked the program. We learned that he has already talked to the people of Reveille to find out the price, having it installed, and updating the program to fit his company.
