The only department on campus that does not have at *least* voice mail. You get to phone into the department secretary, and she will scribble out a note and hoof it over to the appropriate building/office when she gets the chance. I was amazed. And I have corresponded with the head of the opera program at Yale (John Baril) via email, as well as the voice teacher I want to study with at Northwestern (Bruce Hall).
